The story of The Audio Salon's Maier Shadi's visit to the Supersense Store in Vienna in 2021

Supersense is a difficult enterprise to describe succinctly.

It’s a restaurant, a recording studio, a record mastering studio, a typography library and letterpress atelier, large format photography studio and the only current manufacturer of Polaroid Instant Film. Oh, and it’s also the inventor and purveyor of smell memory kits.

Most of these ventures are housed in a Venetian style palazzo in the heart of Vienna, Austria.

In 2021, The Audio Salon’s Maier Shadi was invited to visit Supersense and meet the man whose vision undergirds all of it. His name is Florian “Doc” Kaps. And if there is one word that sums Doc’s motivation, that word is analog.

Maier and Doc immediately decided to collaborate.

The first result is the co-creation of a unique six record box set of lacquers cut directly from original master tapes of legendary records from the ‘60s and ‘70s. Plus a live recording of a current blues legend, Gregory Porter. There are only fifty made, and they are exclusively available from The Audio Salon.

All of that is explained in the video below:
